Our Services

Gallant holds a Class A asbestos removal licence, covering both friable and non-friable works. We manage asbestos removal across commercial, civil, industrial and residential environments, working closely with occupational hygienists to ensure every project meets regulatory requirements. From initial scoping through to clearance and documentation, we handle the process in a controlled, compliant and methodical way.

Each hazardous material presents its own risks and requires a specific approach. Gallant identifies and assesses the materials on site, developing tailored controls and remediation techniques to remove, treat or make safe a broad range of hazardous substances including lead paint, lead dust, synthetic mineral fibres, silica, PCBs, mercury and historic fire-retardant contamination (PFAS).

Contaminated land requires a thorough understanding of site conditions, regulatory requirements and remediation methodology. Gallant manages contaminated land works across a range of environments, from sites with asbestos impacted soil through to broader contamination scenarios. We work alongside environmental consultants and project teams to develop and implement practical remediation solutions that meet regulatory standards and keep projects on track.

Mould can present serious health risks and requires prompt, controlled remediation by experienced operators. Gallant manages mould assessments and remediation works across residential, commercial and industrial environments. We follow established protocols to identify the source, contain the affected area and restore the site to a safe condition. All works are carried out in line with current Australian standards and guidelines.

Where full removal isn’t immediately required, encapsulation can be a practical and cost-effective solution that extends the serviceable life of a roof. Gallant manages asbestos roof encapsulation works to the required standard, applying approved products and methods that seal and stabilise asbestos containing materials in place. Works are carried out by licensed operators with a thorough understanding of roofing systems and site conditions.

Gallant manages internal strip-out and site preparation works across commercial, industrial and residential environments. Works typically involve the removal and disposal of fixtures, fittings, partitions and floor coverings, including both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Gallant has experience working within live and occupied buildings, managing access, sequencing and safety controls to minimise disruption to the broader site. All works are carried out to specification and with full waste management and disposal handled throughout.

Contaminated Land Remediation | Asbestos in Soil

Case Study Details

Gallant was engaged to remediate a contaminated site where non-friable asbestos had been identified within the soil. Working under strict SafeWork NSW requirements, our team established controlled work zones, implemented environmental and occupational hygiene controls and carried out the full excavation and disposal programme.

In total, 403 tonnes of asbestos-impacted soil was removed and disposed of at a licensed facility. During excavation an unforeseen subsurface concrete pool structure was identified and classified as general solid waste. Gallant moved quickly to manage the additional scope, demolishing and disposing of a further 53 tonnes of material without impacting the project programme.

Independent air monitoring was conducted throughout by Red Ohms, with validation and clearance sampling completed by JK Environmental on completion. The project was delivered safely, on schedule and in full regulatory compliance.

Heritage Site | Lead Paint Remediation & Asbestos Removal

Location: Green Cape Lighthouse, Ben Boyd National Park NSW
Scope: ~600m² | 6 weeks | Crew of 6

NPWS brought us in to tackle lead paint remediation and asbestos removal across the Head and Assistant Lighthouse Keeper’s Dwellings at Green Cape Lighthouse — a stunning but remote heritage site deep in Ben Boyd National Park on the far South Coast.

Our crew of six mobilised for a six-week programme covering roughly 600m² of lead-containing surfaces. The work included roof cavity remediation with certified Fiberlock LBC encapsulant, wet scraping and HEPA-controlled removal of lead paint across all internal and external surfaces, pulling out contaminated insulation batts and asbestos ceiling battens, and remediating surface soil within a metre of the buildings.

While we were on site, asbestos sheeting was found on the internal and external walls of the Powerhouse generator room. NPWS asked us to take that on as a variation — removing the asbestos wall sheeting and lifting the metal roof to get at the lead-contaminated battens and sarking underneath.

All up, the programme was expanded three times as NPWS kept adding scope — which we take as a pretty good sign the team was doing its job well. Property Risk Australia handled independent air monitoring and clearance throughout, and we worked in lockstep with the NPWS-appointed heritage painter to keep everything on track.

Wrapped up safely, on schedule, and with the heritage fabric fully preserved.
